What brought me to apply at the PdC Memorial Library back in Aug 2011 was the interest I have to serve the public. With my current level of knowledge in the self help area, I feel I can share my knowledge in a non-biased way. The PdC Memorial library has a good selection of non-fiction material for all interests. The book I am currently reading is by Joel Osteen titled “I Declare: 31 promises to speak over your life”. It’s on the Publishers Weekly’s top 25 books to read. I think it’s good to keep finding new and improved ways to change our old ways of thinking or doing things. Since I became a full time employee back in April of 2012, my level of responsibilities has increased to cataloging and processing material, managing the daily income from fines, copies made and used books sold, and monitoring the volunteer who helps out with material labelling and shelving. The biggest project I have tackled has been to organize the basement. It had many hidden treasures from art supplies to donated books. The books will be blended into our Wisconsin room and the art supplies will be used for activities held at the library in the future. My goal is to be familiar with what is in the basement and Wisconsin room and share that knowledge with co-workers and patrons.
