The first step in getting ready for the start of construction is to cap the artesian well. The well is 980 feet deep, so it's going to take a lot of material to fill it!

Every great community has people who believe in it's future, and the Prairie du Chien Memorial Library is fortunate to have had that champion in Linda Munson.
The transformation of our library into the beautiful, modern space it is today was not accomplished overnight. It was the result of years of planning, advocacy, perseverance, and an unwavering belief that our community deserved a library that would serve generations to come. Linda's vision, heart, and determination were the driving force behind this project. Through every challenge, she remained committed to ensuring that the dream of a renovated library became a reality.
The Prairie du Chien Memorial Library also extends its deepest appreciation to the Library Board, whose dedication, leadership, and steadfast support were essential throughout the renovation process. Together, along with the city, donors, and everyone who gave and contributed in time and money, they made thoughtful decisions, invested countless hours, and worked tirelessly to create a library that reflects the needs and aspirations of our community.
Today, our library stands as more than a renovated building. It is a welcoming place for lifelong learning, discovery, connection, and opportunity. Every child who attends a storytime, every student who studies here, every reader who discovers a new favorite book, and every community member who walks through our doors benefits from the vision and commitment of those who believed in this project.
